*SOMEONE NEEDS YOU* *“He who gives to the poor will lack nothing, but he who closes his eyes to them receives many curses”* *_(Proverbs 28:27)._* Today is *the second day of Christmas,* popularly referred to as *BOXING DAY* all over the world. There are *many stories* and *schools of thought about its origin.* But one truth that appears in all the stories read so far about Boxing Day is that *gifts are given* and *received.* So the message of Boxing Day is that of *giving* and *receiving.* *Jesus Christ was a gift to the world.* We are gifts; *we are products of giving* and *receiving of gifts.* *No one can survive in life without giving* and *receiving of gifts for life itself is a gift from God to man.* The first thing that was ministered to Jesus Christ by *the three wise men* as soon as He was born was *gifts* *_(Matthew 2:11)._* *Gift is not limited to money,* and *help is not limited to money either.* Do you know that in this period of celebration, *there are people outside there whose conditions are worse?* *There are people that need to be helped* — *to pay fees, feed, for accommodation* and so forth. They may not necessarily come prostrating themselves with tears before you asking for those things. *It is wickedness to God and humanity to accumulate wealth just for yourself* and *your family without thinking about someone else that is in need.* *Every human being is an extension of God.* Hence, *whoever comes across your way today is an opportunity for you to render service to God.* Make up your mind to be *a burden-lifter.* Make up your mind to be *a giver.* Make sure there is never a day you don’t give gifts to people. In the spirit of this season, look around now. *Think of someone you can possibly bless with food stuffs, money, clothes, material things* and so on. Give to *your parents,* give to *the needy,* give to *your mentors* and *all others without any bias or prejudice to religion, culture* or *tribe.* Giving is a spiritual operation, besides, *whatever you give out goes ahead to prepare a future for you.* Finally, remember *there is an eternal dimension to everything you do.* God bless you. Happy Boxing Day! *PRAYER POINTS* *1.* Oh Lord, *give me grace* to lay it down. *2.* Deliver me from *self-centeredness.* Create in me, *feeling for others* and *passion for the less-privileged.* *3.* I am a giver; *my life shall not be barren of new things* in Jesus’ name. *4.* As I extend the flow to others, let not the door of blessing be shut against me.
