IS THIS THE END OF CHRISTIANITY?
DIVISION AMONG THE DENOMINATIONS
Years
ago, I relocated from my apartment to another within a different Local
government area. Considering the distance from my then church where I worship,
I decided to worship in the church on my new street. The church was actually of
a new denomination from the one I had been attending.
Towards
the end of the service, the new comers to the church were welcomed and asked to
see some
During
the discussion and getting to know me more I was given a form containing
sections for my personal details, former church attended . I filled and submitted it.
I
was told about the Sunday service which starts by 8:00 am every Sunday. You know the usual statement of:
"Sunday service is not complete without the Sunday School"
It was
then I told them I was a Sunday school teacher and Youth leader in my former
place of worship.
Beaming
with smile and frankly I was told that each denomination has there own doctrine
and mode of worship, and me being a Sunday School teacher in my former place of
worship does not qualify me to be a Sunday School teacher in the church since I
do not know their doctrine. Moreover, I need to be in the baby class of the
Sunday school after which, I can move onward to the next two higher classes.
"Goosh!," I exclaimed within me "the thought of being a Sunday School teacher here didn't cross my mind.
In spite of being a teacher of the WORD, here I am being told it means nothing to them
since I do not know their doctrine or have passed through their Sunday School. I just looked on in amazement.
Should
doctrines be different in Christendom?
Should
doctrine of any denomination supersede the content of the Holy Book?
Should
we actually discriminate among denominations?
Is
there anywhere Christian denominations is mentioned in the scripture?
All the above flashed through my mind like a racing car. I agreed to be in the Sunday school for the next service.
The
following Sunday, I was right there in the baby class Sunday School, where I
joined a group of new members and old members and children who were taught to
memorize John 3:16.
Memorize John 3:16? Is this it I asked myself.
Memorize.., yes memorize. Maybe you think am full of pride to underrate the Grace and Power behind John 3:16, but no one was actually preaching on it, it was a one hour class of memorization.
Am done drinking milk, I want to eat meat according to the words of Apostle Paul. My spiritual life is yearning for more. To look upon the face of Christ, to understand more of the undeserved Grace he has bestowed upon me, to know who I am that God has visited me
MY DENOMINATION IS BETTER THAN YOURS
Now
in Christendom, a member of Christ embassy cannot worship in The Apostolic
Church, a member of the Apostolic church believes any one who will make heaven
must have received the right hand of fellowship in the Apostolic church ,attend
breaking of bread services and must have a copy of the Apostolic church
redemption hymnal. A member of the Lord's chosen believes all other
denominations are sinners and cannot worship therein. What about a Deeper Life
member can he worship in Celestial Church of Christ, a member of Winners Chapel
believes that their denomination is best among all. Why all this? I thought the
scripture says:
Isn't
the church divided among itself?
Can
a kingdom divided against itself stand?
Can
the kingdom of God be divided against itself?
Do
you think the end of Christianity is near ?
Why are the doctrines in churches today different from what is written in the Act of Apostles?
Maybe I am the one looking at it from a different perspective.
